Avison Young back by royal appointment
18 June 2020Avison Young’s real estate management team has been reappointed by Manchester City Council to advise on 60,000 sq ft of commercial space at the Royal Mills scheme in the city centre’s Northern Quarter.
Avison Young has looked after the Royal Mills instruction for more than six years, and after a highly competitive process, has been retained on the site to deliver property management, including facilities management, agency and lease advisory services.
The council was keen to appoint a supplier that would provide value for money, quality resource and infrastructure, as well as an ability to make social value commitments aligned to its strategy.
Richard Williams, managing director of Avison Young’s real estate management team, said: “Being retained on this prestigious project is a great achievement for us. The strategic fit between the council, the assets at Royal Mills and our capability is exemplary and our reappointment is a real testament to the strength of our new regional director, Emma Berry and the team lead on this asset, Jay Rutter.”
Chris Cheap, principal and managing director of Avison Young’s Manchester office, said: We have a long and successful track record of working closely with Manchester City Council and are delighted to continue advising them at Royal Mills. This instruction perfectly reflects our long term, joined up, advisory approach which I know resonates with our clients.”
The Grade II listed Royal Mills scheme comprises six buildings with 320 residential apartments and more than 60,000 sq ft of commercial space, as well as a 500 sq ft retail or leisure unit.
The reappointment on Royal Mills follows a very successful Q1 of new instructions for the real estate management team, including mixed use development Paradise in Birmingham and 2 Kingsway in Cardiff for Delancey.
