Avison Young boosts National Environmental Planning Team with two new hires
19 May 2021Assisting clients in managing the environmental planning risks, constraints, and opportunities of their projects.
Avison Young has appointed Suzanne Roberts (Associate Director) and Fiona Saunders (Senior Consultant), to further strengthen and grow the National Environmental Planning Team’s presence in Birmingham and the Midlands.
Suzanne is an Environmental Planner with over 20 years’ environmental appraisal and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) experience. Suzanne has an impressive track record gained from a wide variety of highly contentious and complex environmental planning projects in the property and transportation sectors throughout the UK. Suzanne has previously worked at several multi-disciplinary organisations including Waterman Group, WSP and Wardell Armstrong.
Fiona Saunders is an Environmental Planner with 8 years’ experience. Fiona is familiar with all stages of the planning process and has worked with partners from a variety of sectors including Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), public and private sector clients. Fiona joins Avison Young from Arcadis.

As part of Avison Young’s Planning Development and Regeneration (PDR) business unit, the National Environmental Planning Team assist clients in managing the environmental planning risks, constraints, and opportunities of their projects during the various phases of the project life cycle. The Team collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams, best-in-class technical specialists and other stakeholders to ensure the formulation of bespoke strategies and solutions which minimise planning and development risk and maximise planning and development success. Services include: rapid site appraisal and feasibility studies, environmental constraints and opportunities planning, site promotion, masterplanning and environmental design support, waste planning, socio-economic assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening, EIA Scoping, EIA coordination, Environmental Statement (ES) preparation, ES review and strategic development advice.
