PLANNING CONSULTATION
Former Grange School site, Tower Road North, Warmley
Consultation Start Date: 6th January 2025
South Gloucestershire Council is proposing to submit a planning application for redevelopment of the Former Grange School site, Tower Road North, Warmley.
The Council has appointed a design team including sports, landscape, engineering and masterplanning specialists to develop plans for the redevelopment of the site.
The proposal includes:
A revitalised sports hub including a new artificial pitch, resurfaced multi-use courts for netball, tennis and basketball, upgraded natural turf pitches and a new clubhouse building.
Sports facilities that will be managed for use by the local community and local sports organisations.
161 new homes including 35% affordable homes and self-build plots.
A mix of one, two and three bedroomed houses and apartments.
New publicly accessible green spaces, allotments, play spaces, ecological improvements and sustainable drainage features.
New recreational routes and active travel connections for cyclists and pedestrians.
The Site
The site is the location of the former Grange School and Sports College. The school closed in 2016 and buildings associated with the school were demolished in 2021.
Most of the site is vacant, partially brownfield land. One former school building was extended and refurbished in 2023 and is now occupied by Majestic Gymnastics.
The draft South Gloucestershire Local Plan proposes that the site is allocated for the development.
